NAGDA - Dog of the Year
Every year in late March or early April, NAGDA hosts its three day National Competition. The events feature competitions in the following divisions: Amateur Flushing, Amateur Pointing, Open Flushing, Open Pointing, Youth, Ladies, Seniors and Doubles. The scores in each division are totaled after the first two days and the top five winners in each division compete for the championship on the last day.
The Dog of The Year is limited to the scores accumulated by one membership. Dogs may compete in more than one event for which they are qualified. The dog who has the highest number of total points scored at the Nationals will be: DOG OF THE YEAR. Dogs that participated in Double runs will only receive 50% of the points of those runs. In the case of a tie, the dog with the fewest runs is the winner. If still tied, the time of the first bird bagged of those runs will be added together for a total time of the first birds bagged. If still tied, duplicate Dog of the Year awards will be given.
